Aims and Scope

The Journal of Experimental and Clinical Anatomy (JECA) publishes high-quality, original research that advances knowledge in experimental, clinical, and applied anatomical sciences.

The journal welcomes manuscripts that contribute to the understanding of the structure, development, function, and clinical relevance of the human body and animal models, as well as innovative experimental approaches relevant to anatomical research.

JECA publishes work across a broad range of disciplines, including but not limited to:

  • human anatomy;
  • comparative anatomy;
  • developmental anatomy and embryology;
  • clinical anatomy;
  • histology and cytology;
  • histochemistry and immunohistochemistry;
  • biomechanics;
  • neuroscience and neuroanatomy;
  • functional morphology;
  • molecular, cellular, systems, and evolutionary aspects of anatomy.

The journal recognizes the importance of both descriptive and hypothesis-driven studies, particularly where they provide meaningful insight into morphological organization, biological function, developmental processes, or disease-related structural changes.

JECA also considers for publication:

  • clinical updates relevant to anatomical science;
  • case reports of significant educational or clinical value;
  • studies addressing alterations in cells, tissues, or organ architecture associated with disease, injury, or developmental abnormalities;
  • novel methods, techniques, and experimental procedures in anatomical research.

Submissions should demonstrate scientific rigor, ethical compliance, originality, and relevance to the field of anatomy and related biomedical sciences.
